Credited with opening up dog agility to disabled handlers and pioneering distance handling over a decade, Philippa enjoys promoting what disabled people can do and supporting fellow disabled handlers. But 40 years of Rheumatoid Arthritis has left her needing to upgrade to a wheelchair with good speed, traction and suspension that will allow her to be comfortable and pain free, and return to competition.
Philippa loves, ‘To boldly go where no man has gone before’ taking handling from a chair to a totally new level, she enjoys being competitive. Conversely and currently equally applicable is the aspiration, ‘To boldly go where everyone else has gone before’, I know, although she rarely admits it, she is heartbroken to currently be on the sidelines unable to join in, for the sake of the right equipment.
